Applications for the rural travel fund are open to rural sports clubs and rural schools teams with young people aged between 5 - 18 years who require subsidies to assist with transport expenses to local sporting competitions.
Sport club teams and school club teams are defined as:
A sports club team participating in organised sport competition through club membership outside of school time; and/or
A school club team participating in local sport competition at weekends, that exclude inter-school and intra- school competitions played during school time.
Applications can only be made by clubs and schools within the Grey District area for Grey District events. Funding will not be provided for, and may not be used for, the purpose of travel to regional or national sports competition.

Applications for round Two 2024/2025 open on Saturday 1 February 2025 and close Friday 28 February. (Round One 2025/2026 will open Monday 1 September 2025)
Funding decisions will be confirmed at the Committee Meeting, to be held on Wednesday 19 March 2025
