Sport New Zealand Rural Travel Fund

Criteria

Applications for the rural travel fund are open to rural sports clubs and rural schools teams with young people aged between 5 - 18 years who require subsidies to assist with transport expenses to local sporting competitions.

Sport club teams and school club teams are defined as:

  • A sports club team participating in organised sport competition through club membership outside of school time; and/or
  • A school club team participating in local sport competition at weekends, that exclude inter-school and intra- school competitions played during school time.

Applications can only be made by clubs and schools within the Grey District area for Grey District events. Funding will not be provided for, and may not be used for, the purpose of travel to regional or national sports competition.

When can you apply

Applications for round Two 2024/2025 open on Saturday 1 February 2025 and close Friday 28 February. (Round One 2025/2026 will open Monday 1 September 2025)

Funding decisions will be confirmed at the Committee Meeting, to be held on Wednesday 19 March 2025

Download the application form and provide the information required; or,

collect an application form and the application guidelines from the following:

  • Grey District Council Reception, 105 Tainui St, Greymouth. Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
  • Westland Recreation Centre, 83 High St, Greymouth. Monday to Friday 5am to 9pm
  • Greymouth Library, 18 Albert St, Greymouth. Monday to Friday 10.30am to 5pm

Either hand the completed application form into the Grey District Council Office, 105 Tainui Street, Greymouth or email it to info@greydc.govt.nz

Previous successful applicants will need to have completed and returned an accountability report before making another application.
