About the fund

The Creative Communities Scheme Fund (CCS Fund) provides creative assistance to make our Grey District a vibrant place to live. It's a rolling contestable fund for creative projects available to craftspeople, artists, musicians, dancers, actors, community groups, non-profits, and organisations.

This funding is administered by Council and is from Creative New Zealand (CNZ).

Around 70% of CNZ’s income (and this funding) comes from proceeds of the New Zealand Lottery.

Criteria

Projects seeking funding from this scheme should meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Participation– the project creates opportunities for local communities to engage with, and participate in, local arts activities.
• Diversity– the project supports the diverse artistic and cultural traditions of local communities.
• Young people– the project enables and encourages young people (under 18 years) to engage with and participate in the arts.

To be eligible for funding, projects must take place within the Grey Districtrate-paying area. Projects already receiving Creative New Zealand funding are not eligible.
