Elections 2025

Local Elections in New Zealand – Your Voice, Your Community, Your Future

Local elections in New Zealand are your chance to shape the place you live. Held every three years, they decide who will represent your community on local councils, Regional Council and Development West Coast.

From transport and housing to parks and recreation, libraries, water services, rubbish collection and more. Our elected members make crucial decisions about things that affect your everyday life.

If you are keen to stand, it is easier than you think. All you need is two people from the ward you are standing for to nominate you. Training and support are available and you'll gain valuable leadership experience while creating real, lasting change.

Don't wait for change - be the change. Put your name forward and stand for what matters.
